Laura Macknick

Laura started with the Foundation in 2018 and, since that time, served as the inaugural Executive Director. She was then promoted to President and CEO in November 2022. She is an alum of Purdue University for her undergraduate degree and completed her Masters of Nonprofit Administration and Philanthropy from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University. She brings over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, having worked in nonprofit management, fundraising, grant writing, marketing, and communications.
Additionally, Laura is a graduate of Leadership Lafayette and has taught as adjunct faculty for North Central College in Naperville, IL, in their master’s for Nonprofit Leadership curriculum.
I am very passionate about connecting the mission of the foundation to further education and access to vocational skills and training to aid in the regional development of Northeast Indiana. "

Quick facts about Laura
1. Laura lived through April 17, 2006 twice. She was able to complete this feat when she traveled over the International Date Line.
2. One of Laura's favorite experiences was riding the intercontinental railway from Vancouver to Banff.
3. When Laura is away from her desk, you can find her at Warren Dunes State Park with her family, soaking up the sun and sand.
