STEVE GEORGE

Steve joined the foundation staff in January 2021 as the Financial and Administration Manager. He was promoted to Director of Finance & Administration in November 2021, and then Vice President in August 2023. He serves as the point of contact for Foundation operations including, financial, human resources, and office/systems management.
Steve is an alum of Indiana University and brings more than 15 years of experience in financial and operational management with expertise in the areas of accounting and finance, operations and, facilities. He is a member of Delta Sigma Pi, Financial Executives International, Northeast Indiana Human Resources Association, the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Risk and Insurance Management Society.

Quick facts about Steve
1. Steve was a Boy Scout and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
2. During the interview process for the Don Wood Foundation which was then located in Columbia City, Steve was told that the Foundation was looking for a new operating location. The Board and staff toured the building they would eventually purchase, renovate, and operate in at the end of Steve's first week.
3. Steve isn't a big fan of sweets, but will not turn down a Boston cream donut from Tim Horton's.
4. He knows to operate effectively and efficiently. A cup or three of dark coffee must be involved.
